Alliance for Democracy (AD) governorship aspirant in Oyo state, Engineer Hakeemkeem Alao on Saturday said All Progressives Congress (APC) members are not real progressives as they are claiming.
Engineer Alao who stated this in Ibadan while featuring on a Splash FM radio live programme, “Conversation” monitored by our Correspondent lamented that it was unfortunate that most of the present crops of politicians in the country are mediocre.
According to the AD governorship aspirant, contrary to the claim by the APC members and leaders, APC as at present “is a party of strange feathers, mixture of reactionaries and partially progressive” minded politicians.
He stressed that the real progressives are politicians of the defunct Action Group, (AG), Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) and the now Alliance for Democracy (AD), saying, the progressives are known for fulfilling their electioneering campaign promises to the people.
Buressing his claim that most of the present crop of politicians in Nigeria are “mediocre”, the AD governorship aspirant stressed that it is only the mediocre that made promise to the electorates and would not fulfil such.
He pointed out that most of the mediocre presently in the Nigeria politics have no blueprint with which to run the affairs of government, saying, they don’t have plans and that was why the failed to fulfill there electoral promises to the people.
” If you don’t have a plan, you will fall. Most of them are mediocre. They are mediocre because they don’t have a plan. You have to plan based on statistics”, he said.
Emphasizing that the Alliance for Democracy (AD) is now fully back to claim its leadership position in Nigeria politics, Engineer Alao said AD is firmly now on ground in Nigeria and that Nigerians are massively embracing the party ahead of the 2019 general elections.
“AD is the party of choice, the party of the real progressives. When we promise, we fulfill, what did they promised, what did they fulfill.”
Engineer Alao however stressed that if he emerges as the next governor of Oyo state, he is determined to make use of his experience, connection to turn the fortune of the state for better especially in the areas of education, economy and others for good.
