The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) @ Your Door Campaign Forum has said that eight years after the demise of late President Umar Musa Yar’Adua, he is still fondly remembered by majority of Nigerians.
This was expressed in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Jacob Onjewu Dickson, made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Sunday, May 6, 2018.
The statement said that the National Coordinator of the forum, Comrade Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani ahead of the 8th anniversary of his death on May 5, ordered members of the forum nationwide to hold special prayers for the late Nigerian leader.
“Muslims were ordered to offer special prayers during Juma’at on May 4, while Christians were instructed to do same in their churches on May 6,” it stated.
The forum recalled with pride the landslide achievements of late President Yar’Adua that set a precedence for a robust economy, which his successor, former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan built upon.
“He was an achiever per excellence, whose two terms as Governor of Katsina State saw him transform it from a rural suburb to a sprawling metropolis.
” Nigeria would never forget him for his selfless contributions to national growth through ending of the Niger Delta crisis which lingered through several administrations before him. His solution made Nigeria’s economy leap to become Africa’s largest under his successor,” it added.
The forum told Nigerians to do the right thing in 2019 by voting out the All Progressives Congress (APC) and usher in another era of prosperity from the PDP.
