8 students discovered as Nimrod sponsored Zone VI Volleyball Clinic ends …Dalung hails organizers

Eight promising students that were outstanding have been spotted and penciled down by the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports Development for future grooming to world class players as the 2nd edition of the Volleyball for Festival and Primary/Secondary School Clinic ended on Saturday evening at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
The talented future stars are; Anthony Ani, Sylvester Ogbe, Mathew Omoniyi, and Ani Emmanuel from the male category;
Christiana Omolara, Joy Onaji, Gift Michael and Veronica Yamfre from the female category.
Speaking in an interview with newsmen at the sidelines of the closing ceremony, Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Barrister Solomon Dalung  said that the clinic was in line with directives of President Muhammadu Buhari’s instruction that grassroots sports development should be given priority.
The Minister, who was represented by the Director, Grassroots Sports Development in the ministry, Dr. Ademola Are, praised the sponsor Engineer Musa Nimrod, who is also the Chairman of Kaduna State Volleyball Association.
He called on other public spirited individuals to support government in developing sports at the grassroots, stressing that government alone cannot shoulder the enormous responsibility.
As part of his support to the clinic, he donated nine trophies, that were later presented to the nine schools drawn from Kaduna State that participated.
The Zonal Coordinator, Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Alhaji Alli Bode Durotoye presented volleyballs, nets and certificates to all the schools present and individual students respectively.
He charged them to put the donation into judicious use when they get back to their schools.
