2019: Tinubu, Businessmen Can’t Impose Stooges On Oyo State Through APC – Makinde

The newly elected Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Oyo state, Engineer Seyi Makinde on Monday kicked against alleged ploy by Asiwaju Bola  and some business Tinubu to impose their “stooges” to rule Oyo state.

Engineer Makinde in a statement issued by his campaign office and signed by Prince Dotun Oyelade particularly condemned the meddling of politicians and business men from outside in who emerges as the APC flagbearer in Oyo state.

The PDP governorship candidate emphasized that “it is disrespectful to party members and Oyo state people for Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu to dictate who should rule us here when the problems he created in Lagos is unresolved and still festering” .

“Why must outsiders insist on their stooges to rule us in oyo state and why must we always accept their orders when what is left is a crumbling Empire” he said.

Engineer Makinde stressed that there was  similar imposition in 2011 when former Governor Lam Adesina was sidelined in the process leading to the adoption of Governor Ajimobi a decision that has drawn the state back leading to record indebtedness yet unsurpassed since the creation of the state in 1976.

The  PDP governorship candidate however expressed his profound gratitude to the National and state Leaders, state Executive, Delegates and entire members of PDP in Oyo state for overwhelming support accorded him during the just concluded governorship primary where he emerged as PDP Candidate in forthcoming 2019 General elections.

According to Engineer Makinde, as far as he is concerned ,  the masses of Oyo state remain his motivators because they won’t ask for contracts and would insist that we build the state together for the benefit of all.
