In reaction to the decision of Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, to hand over government to his son-in-law, Chief Uche Nwosu in 2019, Imo indigenes residing in the United Kingdom (UK) and other parts of Europe, have taken a stand insisting that they would resist imposition of any candidate on the people, come 2019.
In an official statement, the group cautioned that any attempt by the governor to impose his son-in-law, would spell crisis in the state.
According to them, the governor, should instead consider his deputy, Prince Eze Madumere, whom they noted had been a very loyal partner to him.
The group therefore, used the opportunity to call on the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere to consider contesting the governorship election in 2019.
In the statement, the group said, “We cannot afford to have an experimenting governor who may not appreciate the seriousness and dire consequences of lack of effective governance”.
