2019: My Reelection Should Not Be Reason For Bloodshed – Ortom

Governor Samuel Ortom

The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has said that his re-election into office should not come at the price of bloodshed.

Governor Ortom made this comment at the forum of former political party executives led by chief Michael Iduma who paid him a visit in the state recently.

Ortom said that although his move for re-election is constitutional, it is not more important than anyone’s life, adding that God who saw him through and made him governor in 2015 would also assist him by his grace to make his re-election in 2019 possible.

He expressed his gratitude to the people of Benue who stood by him through heat of tough and very trying times .

Before this time, Chief Iduma had urged the people of the state to re-elect Governor Ortom for the sustainability of development and growth in the state.

He praised Ortom’s advocacy for ranching which, according to him, was being accepted nationwide.

Iduma said that the impounding and destruction of arms of criminals during the amnesty program which became a model to several states saved many lives.
