2019: Groups Want Yuguda To Re-Contest Bauchi South Senatorial Seat

Groups and individuals have intensified calls for Bauchi State former governor, Mallam Isah Yuguda to re-contest for Bauchi South Senatorial district seat under the Green Party of Nigeria (GPN).
 
One of the groups, Dangarba Volunteer Group Thursday paid for courtesy visit to the GPN state party secretariat in Bauchi to express its support for the former governor to heed the calls by groups and individuals to contest for the Senate seat in the 2019 general elections.
 
Yuguda had in 2015 contested for the Bauchi South Senatorial seat under the erstwhile ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) after his eight year tenure as the Bauchi State governor, but was floored by Mallam Ali Wakili of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the elections.
 .
Speaking during the courtesy visit the leader of the group, Alhaji Dangarba Magaji said that they were at the party secretariat to rally more support for the former governor to re-contest for the‎ seat because they are hopeful that Yuguda will deliver more dividends of democracy to the people.
 
He told the party chieftains that members of the group have embarked on a massive campaign to canvass support for the governor in all nooks and crannies of the seven local government areas that made up the Bauchi South senatorial district.
 
Welcoming the group, the Bauchi State GPN chairman, Alhaji Sani Mohammed Bura commended the group for their support to the former governor and their call for him to serve his people, and assured them that members of the party will work towards convincing Yuguda to contest for the Bauchi South senatorial seat comes 2019 elections
 

Highlights of the visit was the donation of a vehicle by a member of the group to help in logistics to canvass support for the former governor.
