The people of Jos-North Bassa Federal Constituency have been told to show understanding and political maturity by allowing the next representative to emerge from Bassa for fairness and justice.
Aspirant for the seat, Alhaji Haruna Maitala Jingir argued that it’s only fair for the next House of Representative member to come from Bassa after Jos-North had produced four elected member without giving it to Bassa people.
He called on the political elites from jos-North local government in particular to play a politics of give and take by conceding the seat to the various tribes in Bassa local government
“Well, it is obvious that no one is happy to see that the representation in our constituency has been dominated by politicians from Jos-north. I had the opportunity to seat down with stake holders from that local government and am glad that they all have a rethink on where next member should come from.
“I called on the politician from Bassa to forget about whatever sentiment and see how we can carry the day “,he added.
He described the youths as a backbone of any society and noted that no nation can afford toy with the younger generation.
According to him, ” what is paramount is to engaged the youths into skill acquisition and meaningful productive ventures “.
Hear him, “ so if the youths are not catered for, this society is in danger “.
On the clashes between Herdsmen and farmers in the are, Maitala called on the various ethnic- groups to come together for the development needed in their domain.
He promised to provide the people of Jos-North Bassa Federal Constituency a qualitative and purposeful representation that would guarantee them dividend of democracy.
