The ruling partt in Ondo State, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has assured the people of the state of an improved economy in the New Year 2018.
In his New Year message, the state Chairman of the party, Engr. Ade Adetimehin gave the assurance that the Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu-led administration would deliver more dividends of democracy to the people.
In his words: “Let me assure you all that as we are gradually moving out of the recession so also our economy is receiving revival, adding that APC led- government would continue to bring more dividends of democracy.
He noted that “as you know, our state economy has contracted in recent times due to the recession, many people are feeling the consequences, in terms of employment or income. However, our economic condition does not, on its own, define who we are.”
Declaring the determination of the party to engage youths in the state for positive visions for their future and development of the state, Adetimehin said: “My major priority, as acting chairman of our great party, is to engage with, and listen to our young people” .
That engagement, he said, confirmed that young people have a very positive vision for the future of the state, and are determined to make their contributions to positive change.
The APC Chairman disclosed that the party had successfully reconciled some members of the party who left the party shortly before the governorship election in 2016.
According to Adetimehin, “I have engaged with a lot of our members who left the party at a very critical period before the governorship election and with other progressive-minded people in the other political parties”.
“I’m glad to inform you that that initiative had yielded a positive response by boosting the membership of our great party with considerable number of our party members who left are returning while new members from other parties have since been joining the APC in the state”, Adetimehin further stated.
