The Executive Secretary of Taraba State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Umar Leme has disclosed that the State government has released the sum of 288.5 million Naira to sponsor 188 pilgrims to perform this years Hajj.
The state executive secretary disclosed this during in an interview in his office in Jalingo, Tuesday.
He commended Governor Darius Ishaku for the support and cooperation to the Board.
The Secretary also disclosed that a total of 1,300 pilgrims from the state would perform this years’ Hajj.
He said all necessary arrangement for the airlift of the pilgrims from Yola International Airport to the holy land has been concluded.
Alhaji Leme explained that the sum of 1.1 billion naira was released to National Hajj Commission for the exercise.
